RCA recording artist and New Orleans native Dee-1 has officially been announced as a performer at this year’s Essence Festival, presented by Coca-Cola. The 4-day festival will take place July 2nd through July 5th at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, LA. Dee-1 joins a star studded lineup that includes Usher, Missy Elliot, Common and fellow New Orleans emcee, Mystikal. Tickets and VIP packages are available now at www.essence.com/festival.
Currently, you can catch Dee-1 headlining the 3’s Up Tour in support of his recently released project under the same name, the 3’s Up EP. The EP proved to be a success, debuting at number 9 on Billboard’s Hip-Hop album charts after the first week of release. Following the release of the 3’s Up EP, Dee-1 announced the accompanying 3-part documentary series that highlights his mantra “Be Real, Be Righteous, Be Relevant” and gives fans an intimate glimpse of the man behind the Mission Vision. In addition to performing at the Essence Festival this year, Dee-1 also will be taking the stage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 2nd alongside Elton John, Ed Sheeran and T.I.
